Step 1: ID Verification
- Who Needs to Verify: If you intend to sell anything on SWAPD, you must verify your identity.
- Who Doesn’t Need to Verify: Buyers and members who only participate in discussions are not required to verify.
Step 2: Protect Your Privacy
- Public Listings: Do not reveal URLs or @Handles in public posts.
- Private Communications: Sharing URLs or @Handles in private messages and chats is allowed.
- How to Share Safely: When creating a new topic, always use the designated fields for your URL/@Handle. This keeps your information private from the public and visible only to verified members with appropriate trust levels.
Step 3: No Offsite Transactions
- Merchant of Record Requirement: All payments must be processed through SWAPD as the Merchant of Record. This means SWAPD is the legal seller of record for all transactions on the platform.
- Strict Policy: Offsite transactions or communications are not allowed.
- Consequences: Any attempt to bypass SWAPD’s checkout system or move communication offsite may result in permanent removal from the platform.
Step 4: Use Checkout Tickets for Transactions
- Mandatory Process: Every purchase or sale must be conducted via SWAPD’s Checkout Tickets.
- Legal Structure: When you open a Checkout Ticket, SWAPD (as Merchant of Record) enters into the transaction with the buyer. Subcontractors provide the goods or services to SWAPD, which then delivers them to the buyer.
- Security: All payments, delivery confirmations, and refunds are processed by SWAPD to ensure safety and compliance.
- Rule: Circumventing this process for any reason is a violation of our Terms and can lead to permanent removal.
Following these rules ensures that all transactions are legally compliant, secure, and transparent. SWAPD, as the Merchant of Record, provides you with full buyer and subcontractor protection, including secure payments, proper delivery management, and refund handling.
